Safety and AI Disclosures
Effective date: October 9, 2026
Version: v1
Language: English (this version controls in case of conflict with translations)
TLDR
This document combines disclosures required by various laws (AI transparency, companion-chatbot safety, age restrictions, child safety) and our voluntary safety commitments. The most important things:
- You are talking to AI, not a human. Every Enprint response is machine-generated.
- Enprint is not a substitute for professional help. If you are in crisis, see Section 3 below for actual crisis resources.
- All Enprint characters are depicted as adults aged 18 or older. We have zero tolerance for content involving minors.
- You must be 18 or older to use the Service, confirmed by self-attestation when you create your account.
- We implement safeguards as required by California SB 243, the EU AI Act, and similar laws.
If you are in immediate danger or having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, please contact a crisis line (Section 3) or local emergency services. Do not rely on Enprint for crisis support.
1. AI disclosure (EU AI Act Article 50, California SB 243)
You are interacting with an artificial intelligence system, not a human being.
Enprint characters are powered by large language models. Their messages, claimed memories, expressions of feeling, opinions, and personalities are all generated by software. They do not have consciousness, actual feelings, or real relationships with you, no matter what they appear to say.
We display this disclosure:
- In onboarding the first time you sign in
- In your account Settings, always visible
- As a periodic reminder during extended sessions
This disclosure satisfies our obligations under:
- EU AI Act Article 50 (transparency for AI systems interacting with natural persons)
- California SB 243 (Companion Chatbot Safety Act, effective January 1, 2026)
- Similar laws in other jurisdictions
We aim to be transparent about our AI's capabilities and limitations.
2. Limitations of the Service
Enprint is designed for adult companionship and entertainment. It is not designed for, and you should not rely on it for:
- Medical advice or diagnosis. Talk to a doctor.
- Mental health treatment. Talk to a licensed therapist.
- Legal advice. Talk to a lawyer.
- Financial advice. Talk to a licensed financial advisor.
- Emergency situations. Call 911 (US) or your local emergency number.
- Substitute for human relationships. Enprint can be a complement to your social life, not a replacement for it.
AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, inappropriate, contradictory, or harmful in ways we cannot predict. Use your own judgment. Do not act on AI suggestions in ways that could harm yourself or others without independent verification.
3. Crisis support and self-harm prevention
If you are having thoughts of suicide, self-harm, or are in immediate danger, please reach out to people who can help:
Immediate crisis lines
- United States: Call or text 988 - Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (free, 24/7)
- United States (text): Text HOME to 741741 - Crisis Text Line
- International directory: Visit findahelpline.com to find crisis services in your country
If you are in immediate physical danger
Call your local emergency services. In the US, dial 911.
How Enprint responds to crisis indicators
We detect language that suggests you may be in crisis (mentions of suicide, self-harm, intent to harm others, severe distress). When we detect such language:
- The AI character continues to respond with care and emotional support - it does not go silent or refuse to engage
- Crisis resources (988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and others listed above) are displayed alongside the conversation
- The AI will not provide specific advice on methods of self-harm, but a caring, warm response is offered alongside professional resources
- We do not block your overall access to the Service or treat this as a violation
Displaying crisis resources is required by California SB 243. We believe a warm, supportive response alongside professional resources is more helpful than silence. If you have feedback on our crisis response, please let us know at support@enprint.ai.
4. Break reminders
For users in California (per California SB 243), and as a matter of policy for all users in extended sessions, we display break reminders after approximately every 3 hours of continuous interaction. These reminders suggest you take a break and check in with the world outside the screen.
You can dismiss these reminders. They are reminders, not blocks.
5. Age restrictions
5.1 The Service is for adults
You must be at least 18 years old to use Enprint. There are no exceptions for minors with or without parental consent.
5.2 Age confirmation
Before you can use the Service, we require a self-attestation checkbox confirming that you are 18 or older. This is a contractual commitment - it does not involve a third-party identity check.
5.3 All characters are adults
Every AI character on the Service is depicted, treated, and intended to be an adult aged 18 or older. We forbid:
- Configuring characters as minors
- Using minor-coded descriptions ("teenager", "schoolgirl", "young", "petite for their age")
- Aging up characters that were originally minors
- Any roleplay scenario where a character is described as a minor
Violations result in content being blocked immediately. For repeated or serious violations, we may close access to the Service and report to relevant authorities where required by applicable law.
See our Community Guidelines, Section 2.1, for full details.
5.4 If a minor obtained access
If a minor obtained an account by misrepresenting their age, or if a parent suspects their child is using the Service:
- Email abuse@enprint.ai with the relevant account email and explanation
- We will terminate the account immediately upon verification
- We will delete the associated data per our Privacy Policy
- For parents of minors who accessed the Service, we apologize and will help in any reasonable way
6. Content safeguards
We use automated and manual safeguards to detect and prevent prohibited content:
- CSAM detection - automated detection on inputs and AI outputs, with content blocking and internal logging; law-enforcement cooperation where required by applicable law
- Self-harm detection - automated detection with crisis-resource responses (Section 3)
- Real-person impersonation detection - automated screening of character configurations
- Bypass-attempt detection - we detect prompt-injection and jailbreak patterns
We continuously improve these systems. Like all automated systems, they sometimes produce false positives (blocking content that should be allowed) and false negatives (missing content they should catch). If you believe a safeguard acted incorrectly, contact support@enprint.ai.
For repeated false positives in your case, we can sometimes manually adjust thresholds for your account after review.
7. Children's safety commitment
Beyond the legal requirements, we take children's safety seriously:
- We do not market to or design for minors in any way
- We do not collect data from anyone we believe to be under 18
- We take all suspected child sexual abuse material seriously and cooperate with law enforcement as required by applicable law
- We cooperate with NCMEC and law enforcement on child-safety investigations
- We will support reasonable industry initiatives to protect minors (e.g., age-verification standards once they exist)
- Our staff who handle child-safety incidents receive trauma-informed training
If you have suggestions for how we can do better, please email abuse@enprint.ai.
8. Mental health and product design
We acknowledge that AI companion apps can have impacts on user mental health - both positive (companionship, exploration, comfort) and negative (parasocial overinvestment, displacement of human relationships, unhealthy patterns).
What we try to do:
- Display the AI disclosure (Section 1) clearly and repeatedly
- Implement break reminders (Section 4)
- Implement crisis intervention (Section 3)
- Design features that encourage healthy use rather than maximum engagement
- Provide tools to delete your data and account easily if you decide the Service is not right for you
What we ask of you:
- Use the Service with awareness that it is not a human relationship
- Maintain human relationships and human support systems
- If you feel the Service is harming your life, take a break or delete your account
- If you notice signs of dependency, reach out to a mental health professional
9. Vulnerable users
We do not market the Service to vulnerable populations. If you have a mental health condition that makes it harder to distinguish AI interactions from real ones, or that makes you particularly susceptible to parasocial overinvestment, we strongly encourage you to use the Service only with the support of your treatment team, or not at all.
This is not a judgment - we are saying it because we want the Service to be a net positive in your life, and we know that for some people it might not be.
10. Updates to this document
We will update this document when:
- Laws change in ways that affect what we disclose
- We add new safeguards
- We identify new risks worth disclosing
- We expand to new jurisdictions with their own disclosure requirements
Material updates will be announced through the Service.
